What is Hometown Idol?
Hometown Idol is a talent search competition put on by the Twin Cities Jaycees.
How does Hometown Idol work?
We hold open auditions for contestants. The auditions are at Cheek to Cheek Night Club in Kalamazoo. They will start at 6:00pm both nights and will end at 9:00pm. Each night our judging panel will select the top 30 contestants. Auditioners may audition both nights. Those 60 contestants will compete in one of three rounds of preliminaries. In the preliminaries, new judging panels select three contestants to move on to the finals. An additional "wild card" selection is made through audience voting. Each week, four contestants will move on to the finals at the State Theatre. Twelve contestants will then compete at the Finals at the State Theatre in Kalamazoo. The winner is determined by a combination of judging scores and audience votes, with the tie-breaking decision made by the judges. |
